I've been using regnow for a long time (since 2000) and it is mostly been a pleasant experiance, however these recent changes to our vendor pages is really annoying me.

I used to like seeing the total balance on the orders page - it made it simple to click one url to get the days orders and see the months balance - they have taken this off so now we have to go to the orders pages AND the home. I have asked support to revert this and they say there have been other requests to do the same but it has been many weeks now.

Also, mandatory *strong* password changes every month - seriously? Do these people know what happens when admins enforce strong password changes every month... that's right - the passwords get written down! Come on, either have 'normal' monthly password changes or enforce ONE strong password change each year or so.

I am interested to see if anyone from RegNow can shed any light on this, and if some changes can be reverted.

regards,
Duncan

Duncan,

We are planning on adding the balance back in the "toolbar" section of the control panel so that it can be seen from every page. We apologize for the inconvenice.

The mandatory *strong* password changes will no longer be required as of tomorrow. The fix is in so that the codes will not expire. This should have never been changed.

Yes, the strong password is very annoying. I don't mind some restrictions but when I rarely visit this site I'm not going to remember the password and I'm not going to write it down. At least they could add a password hint that we can set ourselves.

Strong password for sure does help, but having everyone month to change is bit annoying definitely. If it is getting dropped good

I have been using RegNow since 1997, and I miss the old service. Back when the public faces were Ryan and Jessica Dewell. Everything's just screwy now. I thought that password change was a glitch till I read this post. Jesus Christ! I don't need to change my password every month! I only log in once a month, so I have to do this every time. I don't mind the "strong" password. I've had to use it in several other places too, So now I have to change it/change it back every time I log in. Annoying.

Is it just me or is every paym, ent processing service owned by Digital River now? Did they bite off more than they can handle? It seems like they're distracted most of the time.

And the affiliate service. I use to make decent money from that a long time ago. Now? Incredible traffic, zero sales. Even when I only promote download links. As for my own software and php script sales, that's just dead now.

I completely and utterly give up on the whole selling software thing. I've been doing it since 1997 and I had a good run. Everyone has to move on, I guess. I'm a writer now with six published novels and that at least is showing a return. Oh, perhaps I'm just a misty-eyed nostalgic romantic. Money was good back then, but it seems the only money to be made now is writing spyware or fake antivirus programs.

Oh, and I refuse to blame in on the economy, like everyone else.

PS: Sorry for the rant -- haven't slept in days.

I was wrong about rollbacks; they are automatically patrolled. Also, admins can set a preference to automatically patrol their own edits. I've set this to default to "on" less than an hour ago, and all admins should automatically pick it up unless they've edited their preferences in the last 36 hours since I turned this option on.

Yes it is completely not needed as is having to wade or crawl through pages in ssl which drives you nuts and drags down their server to a crawl.

Typing password every month is a very good chance for keylogers. each time you type password give a chance to keylogers to find your password.

Sorry to hi-jack this post guys but I'm trying desperately to find the answer to a question I have already posted but the admins haven't yet approved the post - is there such a thing as a typical 'waiting time' for the admins to approve such?
Thanks
Marko
